Black Murex Shell with Sea Salt & Driftwood Scent

This one of a kind item is made using the shell of a Black Murex sea snail scented with a mix of soy wax, and sea salt & driftwood fragrance oil.
 
Muricanthus nigritus, The Northern Radix or Black-and-white Murex or Black Murex, is a species of sea snail, a marine gastropod mollusc in the family muricidae. The mucus from these creatures were used by the ancient Greeks and Romans to make a pigment called Tyrian Purple, which was used as a fabric dye. It commanded a very high price so was only used by the nobility and the Church.
 
This item comes complete with a dark wood stand. The shell measures 13 cm long by 10 cm wide and 12 cm high including the stand. This is presented in a gift box which measures 11.5 cm wide by 11.5 cm deep and 9 cm high.
