Nautilus Shell scented with Lime, Tangerine & Herb

This wonderfully shaped shell in its natural colours has brown tiger like stripes over a creamy white surface base colour, but just below the surface lies glistening Mother of Pearl. 
Related to the octopus, squid and clam, the spiralled nautilus  is divided into chambers with the animal occupying the outermost chamber. A newly hatched nautilus begins life with about 4 Chambers and will develop an average of 30 Chambers by adulthood. The inner chambers are filled with gas and help the nautilus to maintain neutral buoyancy. By adding liquid to the Chambers, it is then able to dive.
Common to the Western Pacific,  our shells are collected from naturally sustainable resources and are either a by-product of local food gathering or naturally available, i.e., brought in by the tide and collected from the beach.
This particular shell comes in a box with a stand. The shell measures approximately 10 cm x 14 cm x 6.5 cm. It also weighs approximately 280 grammes.
